When and How to Use Skinuva Products Together
Skinuva products were each developed to provide a solution and treatment for specific skin and healing concerns. Skinuva Scar and Skinuva Scar+ SPF help improve scars from surgeries or injuries, Skinuva Brite helps improve hyperpigmentation such as melasma, sun spots, and more, and Skinuva Bruise helps reduce bruising swelling, and pain from surgeries, cosmetic procedures, or injuries.
There are several instances where Skinuva products may be used in conjunction with each other to help with the same issue or to tackle independent issues together. Some examples include helping with long-term scar treatment, improving the skin and healing process before and after chemical peels, laser treatments, or microneedling, and helping with potential pregnancy-related skin concerns.
Helping with Long-Term Scar Treatment
Although Skinuva Scar and Skinuva Scar+ SPF are the go-to products for treating post-surgery (cosmetic and non-cosmetic) or traumatic scars, Skinuva Brite may also contribute to improving the appearance of pigmented scars.
Skinuva Scar and/or Skinuva Scar+ SPF should be applied twice a day to your recent scar starting approximately two weeks post-procedure when the incision site/wound has fully healed. It should be used daily for a minimum of 3-6 months to best improve the scar's appearance, but if there is still some residual hyperpigmentation associated with the scar after using Skinuva Scar/Skinuva Scar+ SPF for this period of time, Skinuva Brite can then be used to further improve the hyperpigmentation.
Skinuva Brite should also be used twice daily, morning and night, and sunscreen should be applied over it. Since Skinuva Brite is safe for long term, daily use, you may use it indefinitely on your scar's residual hyperpigmentation or any other type of hyperpigmentation you may have.
Using the Products Before and After Laser, Chemical Peels, or Microneedling Treatments
Skinuva Scar, Skinuva Brite and Skinuva Bruise all can help in different stages of your laser resurfacing treatment, chemical peel, or microneedling treatment.
- Skinuva Brite is formulated to help improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation such as dark spots and discoloration of the face and body. It can be used prior to your laser, chemical peel or microneedling treatments to help optimize and maintain the even appearance of your skin.
- Skinuva Bruise helps reduce bruising, swelling, and pain from cosmetic procedures. You can begin taking Skinuva Bruise 1-2 days prior to procedure or day of the procedure to help reduce symptoms. Take 1 capsule twice daily for 7 days unless instructed differently by your doctor.
- Skinuva Scar has been clinically shown to help improve the skin’s recovery process after CO2 laser treatments, and can also help the skin heal after chemical peels or microneedling treatments.
- Most patients use Skinuva Scar twice daily for two weeks post laser treatment, chemical peel, or microneedling. After this period and once your skin has recovered from the treatment, Skinuva Brite can then be applied indefinitely twice a day to optimize and maintain the evenness of your skin tone and to help improve the appearance of any hyperpigmentation that you may notice.
Improving C-Section Scars and Pregnancy-Related Melasma
Skinuva Scar, Skinuva Scar+ SPF, and Skinuva Brite can be used in conjunction to tackle independent issues commonly experienced post-pregnancy. Women who have recently delivered via C-section and who also have developed pregnancy-related melasma may benefit from using both products simultaneously.
Skinuva Scar or Skinuva Scar+ SPF can be used to help improve the appearance of the C-section scar and Skinuva Brite can be applied to the face to help minimize the appearance of melasma.
