Skinuva's mission is to provide customers, doctors, and patients with safe and effective, clinically tested, solutions driven, and physician developed products. Skinuva Scar and Skinuva Brite were developed because of the lack of advancement in topical scarring and hyperpigmentation products on the market.
Growth factors are key ingredients in both Skinuva Scar and Skinuva Brite that help elevate them above other scarring and hyperpigmentation products. Growth factors are secreted proteins that act as signaling messengers and stimulate cell growth, survival, inflammation, and tissue repair. With scars, fetal scarless healing is widely published and occurs due to a complex upregulation and downregulation of certain growth factors, which is not seen in adult scar tissues. By utilizing such knowledge, Skinuva's team of scientists, clinicians, and chemists were able to formulate our first product, Skinuva Scar.
Skinuva Scar contains selectively chosen synthetic growth factors to mimic the fetal healing process and allow scars to heal as normal as possible. This includes Transforming Growth Factor β3 (TGF- β3) and two other proprietary growth factors that have been shown to help reduce the redness, pigmentation, and thickness of scars, and improve collagen.
Skinuva Brite includes Epidermal Growth Factors (EGF) and another proprietary growth factor that has been shown to help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation by inhibiting tyrosinase, a critical enzyme involved in the synthesis of melanin (pigment) in cells. Epidermal Growth Factors have also been shown to decrease melanin production in inflamed cells.
There are dozens of skin care products on the market that contain growth factors (synthetic, human, plant-based) with no sequelae from long term, daily use. Skinuva products use trace amounts of synthetic (non-human derived) growth factors that are INCI registered as cosmetic peptides. There have been no adverse reactions in sequelae in thousands of patients that have used Skinuva products.
