Skinuva® Scar and Skinuva® Brite

Skinuva® Scar is a physician designed and clinically tested scar cream that uses highly selective growth factors within a silicone cream matrix to help improve the appearance of scars. Unlike other scar products on the market, Skinuva® Scar is the only one that uses selective growth factors and other ingredients that have been shown to help improve the appearance of scars using peer reviewed medical literature. Rigorous clinical studies have shown that Skinuva® Scar improves the appearance of scars nearly 2x more when compared to silicone cream.*

The 50mL is ideal for scars larger than 6 inches in size, the 30mL is great for scars 1-6 inches, and the 15mL is ideal for scars less than 1 inch in size.

Skinuva® Brite is a physician-designed and clinically tested skin brightening product that has been shown to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation such as dark spots and discoloration on the face and body. Types of hyperpigmentation include melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, under eye hyperpigmentation and sun spots (solar lentigines). Skinuva® Brite does not contain hydroquinone, retinol, nor any silicone. Skinuva Brite is only available in the 30mL size.

Using Scar and Brite Together

What instances can Skinuva® Scar and Skinuva® Brite be used together?
While Skinuva Scar and its ingredients have been clinically proven to help reduce the appearance of scars, Skinuva Brite can also help improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation. Depending on the procedure, both products can be suitable in your pre and post treatment recovery procedure. The following provides some examples of how the two products can be used in combination. 

Helping with Long-Term Scar Treatment:

Skinuva® Scar is best used after your surgery, laser resurfacing, or even microneedling. For treating a recent scar (cosmetic and non-cosmetic surgery), Skinuva® Scar should be applied twice a day beginning approximately two weeks post procedure, and should be used for a minimum of 3-6 months to optimally help improve the appearance of the scar. If after this use of Skinuva® Scar for 3-6 months, there is the appearance of residual hyperpigmentation associated with the scar, Skinuva® Brite may also be used and can be helpful to further improve the hyperpigmentation at that time.

Most patients use Skinuva Scar for two weeks post laser treatment, chemical peel, or microneedling to help improve the skin’s recovery process after the treatment. Skinuva Brite can be applied indefinitely twice a day after that to optimize and maintain the evenness of your skin tone and to help improve the appearance of any hyperpigmentation that you may notice.   

Laser/Chemical Peels/Microneedling:

Skinuva® Scar and Skinuva® Brite can help in different stages of your laser resurfacing treatment, chemical peel, or microneedling treatment. Skinuva® Brite can be helpful in improving the appearance of hyperpigmentation such as dark spots, discoloration of the face and body, and it can be used prior to your laser, chemical peel, or microneedling treatments help optimize and maintain the even appearance of your skin. If you have undergone a recent laser, chemical peel, or microneedling treatment, Skinuva® Scar has been shown to help improve the skin’s recovery process after the treatment.*  Most patients use Skinuva® Scar twice daily for two weeks post laser treatment, chemical peel, or microneedling. Once your skin has recovered from the treatment, Skinuva® Brite can then be applied indefinitely twice a day to optimize and maintain the evenness of your skin tone, and to help improve the appearance of any hyperpigmentation that you may notice.

Using both Skinuva Scar and Skinuva Brite in women who have recently undergone a C-section and also have pregnancy-related melasma:

Skinuva® Scar and Skinuva® Brite can also be applied at the same time but to different parts of the body. For instance, women who recently had a C-section can use Skinuva® Scar to help improve the appearance of the C-section scar, and if they also have pregnancy-related melasma, Skinuva® Brite can be applied to the face to help minimize the appearance hyperpigmentation from melasma.

Skinuva® Scar Ingredients:

  • Growth Factors: Selective Growth Factors are the ingredients that elevate Skinuva Scar above all other scar treatment products. Our physician innovators tested and chose the most effective synthetic growth factors in the development of Skinuva Scar.  Fetal scarless healing occurs due to a complex upregulation and downregulation of certain growth factors. These Growth Factors help reduce redness, pigmentation, and thickening of the skin and also promote the correct type of collagen production needed for scarless wound healing.

  • Silicone: Silicone has been a key ingredient in treating scars for decades. By creating a barrier on the skin, silicone promotes a hydrated environment for the skin to heal, and creates optimal conditions for Skinuva Scar's other products to take effect.  

  • Centella Asiatica: An herbal ingredient, this has long been used in Asian cultures for its exceptional wound-healing properties.

  • Hyaluronic Acid: A Hyaluronic Acid is used widely in skincare products to promote hydration as well as healthy cell function and healing, and helps the growth factors in Skinuva Scar reach the skin more efficiently.

  • Vitamin C: This offers a trio of benefits, acting as a protective antioxidant, reducing hyperpigmentation and promoting collagen production.
